Amanda Bendle graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2006 with a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Teaching (Sec). Amanda has always had a passion for choral conducting and particularly enjoys working with children. She is currently the Choral Director and Classroom Music teacher at The Good Shepherd Lutheran Primary School where, in addition to the classroom curriculum, she maintains a choral program of approximately 100 children. Amanda believes that the ability to read music is vital to the development of well-rounded musicians and ensures a strong music literacy component is present in her teaching.
Amanda is also an experienced voice teacher. She operated her own music school for approximately 10 years and worked as the Treble Voice Teacher at Scotch College from 2007-2010. She enjoyed the challenges of working with boys as their voices transition and takes great joy in helping all children find their voice.
In addition to conducting, Amanda loves to sing. She was a member of Concordis Chamber Choir for 7 years and while she is currently on leave from the choir after the birth of her first child, she is eager to return to singing soon. Amanda plays the flute, piano and ukulele and thoroughly enjoys having a jam on any of these instruments.
Amanda is married to Chris and welcomed her daughter, Scarlett, to the world in 2014.
