The Australian Children’s Choir is seeking energetic, passionate music teachers/choral conductors for 2017.
Founded in 1976, The Australian Children’s Choir (The ACC) is one of the oldest mixed voice children’s choirs in Australia.
The ACC is based in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne and consists of up to 150 boys and girls aged 7-19 in four different training ensembles. The choir has developed a strong reputation for its refined performances, varied repertoire and the production of fine young musicians, many of whom have gone on to pursue successful musical careers.
Rehearsals are held in Mitcham on Saturday afternoons during term time with a number of annual performances, rehearsal camps and other events.
Two positions are currently available –
Intermediate Choir Tutor (on going)
Junior and Reserve Choirs Tutor/Training Choir Manager (replacement position for Terms 1 & 2)
The successful applicants will be responsible for the training, choral development and concert preparation of their choir. They will be experienced choral educators with an ability to foster a friendly and co-operative community and the ability to work collaboratively with others. The Training Choir Manager will also oversee training choir curriculum and repertoire; and liaise with training choir staff.
Shortlisted applicants will be required to conduct part of a rehearsal as well as attend an interview.
