Artistic Director and Conductor – Andrew Wailes
A mixed voice treble choir and training program based in Melbourne, providing high quality musical education and performance opportunities for boys and girls ages 6-19 years. The Australian Children’s Choir has a proud history of musical excellence, with many of its former members going on to pursue successful musical careers and thousands of children having benefitted from its activities since its founding in 1976.
Audition Sessions
Open auditions are being held for all interested boys and girls aged 5-16 for entry into The Australian Children’s Choir. Auditions are conducted in small groups and will only take about ten minutes. No prior experience for young singers is expected, and there is no need to prepare anything especially. Parents can enjoy complimentary tea and coffee whilst they are waiting for their children. ACC staff and parents will be on hand to answer questions or provide any further information.
Developing an excellent musical education
With four training choirs the ACC caters for children of all ages and abilities to develop musical excellence. Our outstanding staff endeavour to encourage a love of singing in a safe and encouraging environment.
High profile performance opportunities
The Australian Children’s Choir frequently performs at high-profile events both in Melbourne and around the world. The choir has regular regional and international tours to give the choristers opportunities for cultural and musical exchanges. Recent tours have seen the choir travel through Europe, North America, and China.
